Merger creates major housing group

One of the country’s largest providers of affordable housing was launched today, following the merger between A2 and Dominion.

The A2Dominion Group has over 30,000 homes in management across London and southern England, with a further 6,000 properties in the development pipeline.

Group Chief Executive Darrell Mercer said: “The newly merged organisation is ideally placed to meet the changing demands of the housing market.

“We now have the financial strength and resources to deliver more homes and improved services for our residents.”

The A2Dominion Group was given the Housing Corporation’s seal of approval in July 2008.

The Group has a turnover of more than £200m, a grant allocation of £150m from the Housing Corporation and an asset base value of £5 billion.

Its area of operation is supported by an extensive network of regional offices, reaching from Cambridgeshire down to Hampshire and from Wiltshire across to Kent with a significant presence across greater London.

1. The Housing Corporation approved the merger between A2 Housing Group and Dominion Housing Group in July 2008. The new A2Dominion Group officially launched on 1 October 2008.
