Private rent

We have a number of homes available for private rent. These are properties at the same price you would pay on the open market through an estate agent.

You want your home to look good, and to feel good living in it. That's why our homes are presented to a high standard, featuring:

  • quality white goods
  • properties are furnished or unfurnished
  • car parking and car clubs (at some properties)
  • underfloor heating (in some properties)
  • granite worktops (in some properties)

Renting with us offers:

  • great value for money, with competitive prices and no hidden fees - you'll know about our costs up front
  • flexible options, with rolling contracts instead of fixed-term tenancies
  • one month's notice period at any time (subject to property)

As a regulated, financially secure housing group, you'll have peace of mind that your property is secure and managed by a professional landlord. It also means we offer the very best customer care, with dedicated customer service officers providing a responsive repairs service and out-of-hours support. You'll also have a lettings officer to deal with all your queries.

It’s easy to arrange a viewing – you can enquire through the website once you’ve located a property you like the look of, or call us on 0800 432 0077. We’ll then book you into the next available viewing.

One of our advisors will meet you at the property, show you around and answer any questions you have.

If you’ve viewed a property and decided it’s the home for you, reserving the property is the next step. Let us know and we’ll take it off the market while we progress your application. We won’t accept any other offers during this time.

To do this you will need to pay us a deposit. The amount of deposit you pay will depend on the property you choose, but it is usually based on the equivalent of between four and six weeks’ rent.

We will send your deposit to the Deposit Protection Service and it will be held against your tenancy when you move in. When you leave the property we will refund the deposit to you in full, providing there are no rent arrears or damage to the property.

  • Find out more about the Deposit Protection Service

Before you move in you will also need to complete our application form, submit an up-to-date credit check, and supply copies of the following documents:

  • Passport or driving licence
  • Contract of employment
  • Wage slips or bank statements from the last three months.

Once we have received your deposit payment and all of the documentation listed above, we will review your application. If everything is satisfactory we will then agree a move in date with you.

When you move in an A2Dominion staff member or a letting agent will meet you to sign up all of the move-in documentation. This will include an assured shorthold tenancy agreement.

If there is a reason your documentation is not satisfactory we will explain to you why we have reached this decision. Where appropriate, we can request alternate documentation or suggest other housing options available to you.

Before moving in to your new home, you will be required to pay your first month’s rent and the deposit up front.

There are no administration fees or sign-up charges, though there is a small cost of around £2 for us to carry out for your credit check.

Your rent is payable on the 1st day of each month. The easiest way to pay is by direct debit, which you can set up on the day you move in. You’ll need your bank account details to do this. Learn more about direct debits.

As a tenant living in an A2Dominion home, you are responsible for organising and paying all utility bills for the property, including council tax, electricity, gas and water from the beginning until the end of your tenancy.

When you move in, you’ll be provided with meter readings for all utilities and you are responsible for contacting suppliers appropriately.

You can make small aesthetic changes to the property with the written permission of your property manager. This includes hanging pictures and redecorating. You are not allowed to make structural changes to the property.

When you decide to move out of your property, you must return it to us in the same condition as when you moved in and detailed on your check in report. Please consult your property manager for advice on this.
