Plans unveiled for £42m waterside apartment scheme
A not-for-profit housing provider has unveiled plans for a £42 million development in an exclusive location alongside the banks of the River Thames in London.
The A2Dominion Group has acquired the highly-desirable Queens Wharf site in Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith - next door to the world famous Riverside Studios.
The site is set to become home to 100 new waterside apartments – of which about 30 per cent are likely to be affordable. The homes will be developed jointly by A Plus New Homes and A2Dominion London, both members of The A2Dominion Group.
Danny Lynch, A2Dominion’s Regional Development Director (London), said: “We are delighted to have acquired this site, which is currently occupied by an redundant 1970s office block. Prior to this, there was a mixture of residential and engineering workshops on the site.
“We are still very much in the early phases of the planning process, but we look forward to redeveloping the site to bring high-quality housing – both private and affordable – to this part of Hammersmith.”
A2Dominion is working in partnership with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham on the scheme. Contractors and project team consultants for the development are still to be agreed.
It is anticipated that demolition and construction work will begin next year, with a likely scheme completion date of 2013.
