A fresh start for Swanfield Park Community Centre

Staff from Pyramid Plus South, an assets management company that completes property services on behalf of residential property group A2Dominion, recently partnered up with local contractors to spruce up Chichester’s Swanfield Park Community Centre.

The £3,000 revamp which started on Monday 14 August and was completed on Friday (18 August), was undertaken by more than 25 enthusiastic volunteers from Pyramid Plus South or one of its contractors who together donated their time and materials to complete the work in less than a week.

Jamie Silvester, Health and Safety Manager at Pyramid Plus South, said: “I am really proud of the efforts of all those who were involved in this project, especially our staff who used their volunteer days towards its success. We are delighted to have completed this community venture at Swanfield Park Community Centre - a location in which we work almost daily.”

The community centre, which is managed by the local residents’ group SPRING, saw nearly 1,800 local residents pass through its door last year. It delivers an array of initiatives for the local community and is a thriving hub for local people.

Tracey Chapman, Chair of SPRING, said: “It might not seem much but a fresh coat of paint is just what the centre needed and it will make a real difference to those using it. The support of Pyramid Plus South and its contractors is invaluable and we couldn’t be more grateful for this fresh new start.”

Contractors including HTR Building Services, PMBuilding Contractors; Brooks Construction and Bridgelane Developments. Plus Tudor Glass & Security, Visions Maintenance Services, Travis Perkins and Alltask: all contributed to the works.

Donna Hodsoll, Community Investment Operations Manager at A2Dominion, said: “Community is always at the heart of what we do and we’re really pleased to see staff using their volunteer days to do something that has such a large impact on the local community.”
