Free advice service for Ealing residents gearing up for second session

Advice Plus Launch 2015 The service is giving Ealing residents free advice on a range of topics

29-Oct-2015

A new service offering free financial advice and support for Ealing residents is gearing up for a second session on Thursday 5 November following a successful launch last month.

Over 50 local people visited the Green Man Lane café in West Ealing in October 2015 to mark the opening of Advice Plus, a free monthly service which is giving Ealing residents vital support on a range of matters including managing finances and budgeting.

The next session of Advice Plus, organised by local housing associations A2Dominion and Catalyst, is taking place at the café on Singapore Road on Thursday 5 November.

Running from 1pm to 4pm, the forthcoming session will offer Ealing residents free support on:

  • Managing money and debt in response to welfare reforms
  • Employment and training advice
  • Support with health and wellbeing
  • Expert advice on lowering energy bills
  • Help with housing queries.

Light refreshments will be provided and Ealing residents are invited to drop in at any time throughout the afternoon.

Green Man Lane resident Dilip Mandalia, who attended the opening Advice Plus session in October, said: “I received some really beneficial information at Advice Plus and I would highly recommend local residents to make use of this great free service.”

Heather David, A2Dominion’s Head of Community Investment, said: “We’re delighted to be running our successful Advice Plus service and to continue providing support for residents and families in Ealing.

“We already offer the service in Westminster and last year our Advice Plus sessions helped a total of 2,754 people and enabled us to reduce residents’ debt by £118,150.”

Advice Plus is a free monthly service held at the Green Man Lane café on Singapore Road, situated at the heart of A2Dominion’s regeneration of the estate.
