A2Dominion's Leasehold Services Team scoops national award
A2Dominion’s Leasehold Services Team has scooped a National Housing Award for supporting residents in financial hardship.
The team, which is responsible for managing 7,500 shared ownership, leasehold and freehold properties, was awarded the Excellence in Customer Service award at a ceremony in central London in September 2015.
In the face of an increasing number of cases of arrears and repossession, A2Dominion's Leasehold Services Team introduced a new approach to provide more support to residents which has helped to reduce the number of cases of financial hardship by 16% in 2014/15.
It also supported 55 homeowners at risk of repossession to stay in their homes.
Steve Michaux, A2Dominion’s Director of Leasehold Services, said: “We’re delighted to have been presented with this prestigious national award in recognition of the excellent work undertaken by the team.
“Our new approach has put the emphasis on early intervention and we’re now able to provide customers with solutions before their arrears escalate or their home is repossessed.”
Judges at this year’s National Housing Awards said of A2Dominion: “Its leasehold team has offered customers a huge benefit in providing a way out of what may seem to be unsolvable problems.
“Their service stands head and shoulders above the others.”
The National Housing Awards, sponsored by Savills, celebrates excellence, innovation and progression across the sector.
Each year the award winners are decided by a judging panel with a broad range of experience and interest in affordable housing.
