What is Right to Buy?

The Right to Buy means you may be entitled to buy your home for less than its full market value. Your discount is based on the number of years you have been the tenant of a council, a housing association or the armed forces (a public sector tenant).

The Voluntary Right to Buy scheme will extend the existing Right to Buy to housing association tenants. We're currently waiting for further details around the eligibility criteria and start date for the scheme. We'll update this page as we receive new information. If you have any questions in the meantime, you can contact us.

You can also register to receive updates about future plans to extend the scheme on the government's Right to Buy web page.

How much will I have to pay to buy my home.
