Domestic abuse services

A2Dominion Domestic Abuse Service (ADAS) offers emotional and practical support for victims suffering or fleeing domestic abuse in the Oxfordshire and West Berkshire catchment areas.

Help and support includes:

  • Domestic Abuse Helpline: 0800 731 0055 (10am - 6pm, Monday to Friday and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays)
  • Support for all types of abuse including emotional, psychological, sexual, physical, financial, coercive control and honour-based violence
  • Community, helpline, outreach and refuge services
  • Access to an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) for residents of West Berkshire
  • Training and consultancy
  • Dedicated children and young people services
  • A virtual refuge for vulnerable children which you can visit by clicking here
  • Support groups
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • All women and men, with or without children, regardless of sexuality, disability, ethnicity and immigration status.
  • The service is available even if you are not currently eligible for public funds.
  • Services can be provided whether or not you are in a relationship with the abuser.
  • Services are free and confidential with the exception of any safeguarding concerns.

Our aims

  • To provide a high quality, confidential service to support clients, with or without children, fleeing or at risk of domestic violence.
  • To assist clients to develop the skills needed to live independently, and to manage their tenancy in order to secure their own permanent accommodation.
  • To support clients to access the right services for themselves and their children.
  • To be client-centred in our approach.
  • To empower clients and children to give them the opportunity to learn and develop in order to increase quality of life.
  • To recognise that each person has individual needs.
  • To increase the self-esteem and self-image of clients and children fleeing domestic violence.
  • To work with other services to ensure the needs of each client and each child or young person are met.

To provide a confidential service for you to explore your options, rediscover freedom of choice and self-esteem. The service is client-focused, promotes independence and provides independent advocacy.
